Challenges in the Management of Parkinson's Disease: Current Options and Emerging Strategies

CME Dinner Meetings

Program Description

Parkinson’s disease affects an estimated 1 million Americans, or roughly 1% of the population over the age of 60 years. Levodopa is first-line treatment and is considered the most effective antiparkinsonian agent, yet long-term therapy is complicated by adverse events and by the development of symptoms that do not respond to treatment. Fortunately, treatments that can be used in levodopa-sparing regimens, new surgical therapies, and the continuing emergence of novel strategies provide new choices for individualizing therapy to meet patients’ specific and changing needs.

This interactive, case-based dinner forum—a CME activity of the Parkinson’s Disease Advanced Therapeutic Strategies (PATHS™) education initiative—focuses on current and emerging approaches to the diagnosis and management of Parkinson’s disease. A nationally known expert and local dignitary from your area will present late-breaking clinical research, with an emphasis on applying data to clinical practice to improve patient care.
